Drill Pipe for Mining and Quarry Operations
Production blasthole strings and grade control RC pipe for pits, quarries and exploration programs.
Mine and quarry drilling is a cycle-count business. A production rig on a blast pattern makes and breaks connections all shift, and the pipe is judged on how many holes it survives rather than how it performs on any single one. That pushes the spec toward heavier wall, stronger joint forms and hard facing where the formation is abrasive — plus enough spare joints on site that a parted string does not idle a pattern.
Grade control and RC exploration run a different string for a different reason. There the pipe protects the sample, so dual-wall construction, seal condition and inner tube wear drive the buying decision. Republic supplies both from the Perforator programme, and supports them with the same parts and field service organisation that keeps the rigs themselves running.
Send the rig, the hole and the thread you run. We will spec the string and quote it.
Production blasthole pipe
Blasthole strings on DTH and rotary rigs are specified against the rig's torque and pulldown first. Heavier wall costs more per joint and pays for itself in joints that do not wash out at the shoulder halfway through a bench. Rod length is a handling decision: longer rods cut connection count and shift time, but only if the mast and carousel can take them.
Single-wall sizes currently published. Larger production sizes are quoted from the factory programme.

Grade control and RC exploration pipe
RC pipe is bought on sample integrity. Republic supplies dual-wall pipe in the connection standards common on North American RC fleets, with O-ring or flat-seal systems and non-magnetic stainless joints for surveyed intervals.

Keeping a pattern moving
- Consignment and min/max
- Agreed spare joint levels on site so a parted string is a delay, not a shutdown.
- Field service
- Republic techs support the rigs as well as the string, 24 hours on call.
- Failure review
- We read failed joints and adjust the spec instead of re-selling the same problem.
- Tooling to match
- Hammers, bits and subs quoted alongside the pipe so the string is consistent.
Stocking, shipping and technical support
Republic stocks and ships from four locations — Pflugerville, Texas; Cabot, Arkansas; Tahlequah, Oklahoma; and Lisbon, Connecticut — which covers the Gulf, the mid-continent, the Southeast and the Northeast without routing every order through one warehouse. Stocked items ordered by 3pm CST ship next day. Non-stock sizes are built to order and quoted with a stated lead time.
Technical support is the same people who sell the pipe. If a string is backing off, washing out at the shoulder or failing early, we will work through torque, thread compound, make-up practice and the tooling above and below the pipe before we sell you more of it.
- Four stocking points
- TX, AR, OK and CT, so freight lanes are short in most of the country.
- NEXT-DAY SHIP
- Stocked items ordered BY 3PM CST ship the next business day.
- Field service
- Republic service techs support the rigs the pipe runs on, not just the pipe.
- Failure review
- Send us the failed joint and we will read the break before you re-order.
How to get pipe quoted
Send the rig make and model, the hole diameter and depth you are drilling, the hammer or bit sub thread you are running, and the rod length your mast and handling system can take. That is enough to price a string. If you are replacing pipe on an existing rig, a photo of the box and pin and a thread gauge reading will confirm the connection faster than a part number from a previous supplier.
Quotes come back with pipe, connection, wall and any subs or crossovers required to make the string work with tooling you already own. Where a size is not on the shelf, the quote states the build and transit lead time rather than an availability promise we cannot hold.
- Rig and hammer
- Make, model, top drive or rotary head thread, and the hammer or bit sub in use.
- Hole program
- Diameter, target depth, angle, and the formation you expect to fight.
- Handling
- Rod length the mast, carousel or rod handler can accept, and single vs. double.
- Existing string
- Connections already in the yard, so crossovers keep the old iron working.
Frequently asked
What drill pipe suits production blasthole drilling?
Open
Heavy-wall DTH or rotary pipe with a joint form matched to the rig's torque, and hard facing where the formation is abrasive. Rod length is set by what the mast and rod handling can accept.
Do you supply RC pipe for grade control?
Open
Yes. Dual-wall RC pipe in REMET, METZKE and DR-series connections, with O-ring or flat seal systems and non-magnetic options for surveyed holes.
Can Republic hold spare joints on site?
Open
Consignment and min/max stocking arrangements are available so a parted string does not idle a pattern. Talk to us about the hole count and we will size the spares.
